Academic Reading & Writing
Shoreline Adult Education offers Academic Reading & Writing for intermediate and advanced level students looking to take their foundational skills to the next level. Participants will learn to read and write in English for academic, business and formal communication purposes, and may even have their writing published. This class focuses on the skills necessary for success in secondary and post-secondary education environments.
Assigned readings, research strategies, and grammar/vocabulary development will be taught alongside the writing process to help students achieve a solid, coherent final product. A “Book Club” unit will foster reading and discussion skills.
This class is offered to students at the intermediate and advanced levels. Students must meet the placement exam requirements to register.
